Underwater Momma: {Thankful Thursday}

Where I wanted to be. Photo credit! sallisoham

It was a rainy today. I decided to take the girls to an indoor pool for some swimming, fun, etc.

Taking them swimming wasn’t my mistake.

Taking them on a day where every single child from every single summer camp on the Island was there was my mistake.

Not bringing ear plugs was a mistake. Or Tylenol. Or wine.

Here is a transcript of what it was like:

-*Momma, Lala, & Little Em enter pool*

-{sounds of children screaming}

-“Momma! Put my mask on!

-“Momma! Put my mask on!

-*splashes of water on glasses*

-{sounds of children screaming}

-“Momma! Momma! Watch this!

-*children drag Momma to icky-too-warm-toddler-pool

-“Kids, don’t you find it warm in here?

-“Momma! Put my mask on!

-“Momma! Momma! Watch this!

-{sounds of children screaming}

-“Momma! Put my mask on!

-*splashes of water on glasses*

-{sounds of children screaming}

-*Momma takes glasses off*

-Random child to Momma “You’re not allowed to put your head under the water in here cuz all the babies pee here, okay?

-“Wise words little girl, thank you.

-“Momma! Put my mask on!

-“Momma! Put my mask on!

-{sounds of children screaming}

-“Momma! Momma! Watch this!

-{sounds of children screaming}

-*Momma drags children to water slide where there is less pee*

-“Come on girls. It will be fun!

-{sounds of MY children & ME screaming}

-“That was fun, Momma! Let’s do it again!

-“It was fun! Lets go!

I am thankful today that I kept together and let my kids have fun, even though it was pretty much one of the most irritating experiences of my life.

In all of the awfulness there was still so much fun.

I do really wish I had some ear plugs though. Next time my friends, next time.

What are you thankful for?
